I had an absolutely wonderful time visiting this spot in Long Beach. Everything served was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with obvious care. The food was presented beautifully in bright red baskets. I especially enjoyed the golden, crispy grilled flatbread served alongside a rich, savory curry. It was a perfect, satisfying meal. I am already planning my next trip back to enjoy this experience again. This place is a real local gem.

First, kudos to the young fellow behind the counter running this whole establishment on his own during a dinner rush. He deserves better and the restaurant owner should be ashamed of themselves for not being adequately staffed. That said, both dishes we ordered were unremarkable and overpriced. The burrito was all but flavorless and the tikka masala was more akin to soup than sauce. Everything about the decor looked like something spat out of an early AI image generator. I was really excited by the fusion concept, but left very disappointed.

Heard about this restaurant on the radio. I was in the area and decided to give it a try...and I'm glad I did. It's a hidden gem. It's vegan/vegetarian Indian Mexican fusion...in a good way. There's lots of free self parking. The restaurant is clean and well decorated well. The staff is warm and hospitable. The menu is on the wall but also there's brochure style menu. There are lots of yummy options to choose from. Everything is made fresh to order. You could order to go or eat inside. There are a few tables and a couple of cozy booth style seating. It's an open kitchen style restaurant so be prepared and don't wear anything too nice as it might smell like Indian food. There were Indians eating there, which is a good sign. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday. The mix and match tacos are yummy. Paneer tika and mushroom masala are good. But turmeric potato taco stood out most. You can add a cup of soup with any meal for an extra $5 which is a good deal, imo. The vegan yellow lentil soup is very flavorful and enjoyed it more than the vegan mushroom soup. The vegan mushroom masala comes with a side of yellow rice and it's yummy with a bit of spiciness. Prices are reasonable and

I visited Turmeric Cafe and had the paneer tikka tacos along with a hot vegan chai. Both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and wholesome, and you could really tell that quality ingredients were used. What made the experience even more special was how thoughtful the owner was. I asked what options they might have for my 16-month old, and the owner kindly brought out a few samplers without hesitation. It was such a sweet gesture, and it genuinely felt like he cared about making sure my baby had something nutritious and enjoyable to eat. Great food, warm hospitality, and a very welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 would definitely recommend this Appu’s Turmeric Cafe and I’d love to go back!

11 years back we visited Appu’s cafe when it was part of the Long Beach Hospital. Visiting it this cafe for the first time and we were happy we did. Food was simple, tasty and filling. β€œChatting with the owner” should be one of the items on the menu as you will be immensely delighted to hear him speak!! ☺️
